How many of you have walked into a fabric store and felt that familiar, uncontrollable urge to buy a new fabric to add to your "stash", not because you have a definite project in mind for it, but because you're a basically a collector of fabrics?
Better be careful, next thing you know your hobby might turn into a business!
That's basically our story, a fabric collection that got, well, a little out of hand. We are a small, internet-only fabric / sewing business. When we're not busy shopping for new, delightful fabrics that we've "just gotta have", we can be found at the sewing machine, filling orders for custom made home decorating accessories. Our sister site, "A Well Dressed Kitchen", was our first foray into the online world, offering custom-sewn fabric home decor. As we needed to picture the fabric selections on the website (so that our customers knew what they could choose from), we quickly discovered that shoppers were stumbling into the site "through the back door". They were searching just for the fabrics.
Thus www.FavoriteFabrics.com began, as we spun off a second website to deal exclusively in sales of fabric by-the-yard.
But we still do sewing, and yes, our favorite sewing machine is indeed an ancient cosmetically challenged Singer Industrial sewing machine, unrivalled for reliability.
